Europarc Atlantic Isles has produced this guide to celebrate our shared effort, and to provide you with a clear view of our approach to the places that we love. It explains how the special places of England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are conserved, enhanced, understood and enjoyed. It examines how the history and organisation of these areas has grown in different ways in each country. Above all, we are aiming to convey some of the delight of working with these exciting, stimulating and challenging places. I hope you enjoy it.

Connecting the land and sea A major new report that examines how protected landscapes can better manage the connections between their seascapes, coasts and terrestrial areas. A seminar in Bristol on 15 October 2008 will discuss the topic further, looking at the management of European Marine Sites alongside coastal protected landscapes, Historic Seascape Assessment and physical adaptation to climate change.
