Working Groups

CotswoldsEUROPARC Atlantic Isles currently has two Working Groups.  One examines Coastal and Marine Issues, and the other looks at Sustainable Tourism (to find out more about them, see below).  We are looking to set up more Working Groups in the very near future, around issues identified as important concerns in the Members' Survey.  Keep checking this page to see what's new and to get involved.

The Coastal and Marine Working Group has a membership drawn from many of the coastal protected areas in the UK, from the national conservation agencies and from NGOs.  Its work is devoted to securing amongst policy makers at local and national level, the principles and agenda set out in the report Making the Connections Between Land and Sea.  It is Chaired by Edward Holdaway.

The Sustainable Tourism Charter Network exists to promulgate the EUROPARC Federation's Sustainable Tourism Charter for Protected Areas.  It currently has a membership of 25, representing those protected area managing organisations that have already gained Charter status, are working towards it or who simply wish to find out more.  The main purpose of the Network is to develop implementation guidelines  - how-to resources to encourage the widespread adoption of this Europe-wide scheme.  To find out more about the Charter click here.
