Marine planning and coastal protected landscapes

28th March, 2014

EAI’s January webinar, held in partnership with the Marine Management Organisation, explored coastal protected landscapes’ experience to date in the East Marine Plans and how this experience can inform the marine planning process in the South.

Participants considered what good engagement with protected landscapes / seascapes looks like during the marine planning process, and also looked at appropriate provisions in marine plans to have regard to the statutory purposes of protected landscapes / seascapes. Speakers included Phil Dyke (Senior Adviser to the National Trust and Chair of EAI’s Coastal and Marine Working Group), Mel Nicholls (Senior Marine Planner at the MMO) and Tim Venes (Norfolk Coast AONB Partnership), along with colleagues from England and Wales.

The report of the webinar, which contains links to a range of documentation, is available here.
