Forthcoming activities of the EUROPARC Federation

The EUROPARC Federation has several activities in the coming months of interest to members of the EUROPARC network:

EUROPARC Conference 2014

This year’s annual conference takes place in Killarney, Ireland, from 28th September to 1st October hosted by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. The theme is Understanding the Value of Nature.

 

EDofPLogoEuropean Day of Parks

Now in its 16th year, the 2014 European Day of Parks takes place on or around 24th May. Theme this year is “Parks for Nature. Parks for Well-being. Parks for Peace”. You could join your counterparts across Europe in celebrating Europe’s protected areas.
 

Alfred Toepfer Natural Heritage Scholarships

Three scholarships will again be awarded this year to young European nature conservationists.

SONY DSC Siggen Seminar

This year’s Siggen Seminar takes place from 17th to 20th June on the subject of the new EU programming period and related funding opportunities for protected areas. Places are limited in number but free of charge; participants only need to pay their travel costs.
 

 

Junior Ranger Camp

The Krkonose National Park in the Czech Republic is the host for this year’s international junior ranger camp, which takes place from 12th to 19th July.

 

Council / President Elections

The current Federation Council’s three year term ends in the autumn. Elections for President and Council Members will take place in Killarney in September.
