Global Youth Biodiversity Network UK
Showcasing the work of young people in meeting the global biodiversity targets
Supported by EUROPARC Atlantic Isles Youth Voice network, GYBN UK (Global Youth Biodiversity Network UK) is the official youth platform for the UN Convention on Biological Diversity with a mission to empower, enable and unite youth across the UK, inspiring all young people to be leaders for nature, particularly in policy and decision making processes.
GYBN UK is looking to ensure the work of youth is represented in the upcoming UK reporting on the Global Biodiversity Framework targets – at the national and international level – ahead of COP17.
The UK Government is preparing its 7th National Report to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), due for publication in February 2026. This report will outline the UK’s progress in delivering the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) — the set of global targets to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.
To ensure that youth voices and contributions are fully represented, they are coordinating a collective youth report highlighting how young people and youth organisations and networks across the UK are contributing to the GBF’s goals.
They are inviting UK-based youth organisations, groups, and networks working on any aspect of nature, climate, or environment to contribute.
Deadline for input: 31 December 2025
They’ll be collating all responses in early January to include in the joint youth report to be shared with DEFRA, JNCC and submitted to the Global Reporting Platform alongside the UK’s 7th National Report.
We’re really like to see the work of the young people on the Council be represented in this report so please submit your contributions by using the template attached.
